Louise Caola’s Cakes That Looks Like Savory Dishes

These photos can definitely make your mouth waters but looks can be deceiving for these food that look like savory dishes are not what they seem. These are cakes design by an amateur baker named Louise Caola.

The London-based baker has been helping her mother in the kitchen ever since she was a kid and she literally fell in love with baking at such young age. She studied fashion marketing at a university and had a job in advertising but still, she was still able to do her passion for baking cakes during her free time. It was her friend’s birthday when she first baked sausage and potato mash cake. Her food artwork received a lot of praises and this fueled her passion for baking.

She then started creating more cakes and decided to upload photos to her social media accounts like twitter and Instagram. This became a medium for many people to know her food artwork and she has received a lot of orders. She then started taking her passion for baking seriously and even quit her job. She named her cake brand as Poppy&Lulu.

Insect Sculptures Made From Matchsticks

These intricate and handmade insect sculptures made of matchsticks were created by artist Kyle Bean. The said artist who is based in Brighton has this passion for reconstructing everyday materials to turn them into a form of art. He says his work fuses “our human relationship with science and technology and the everyday materials that are around us.”

His artwork conveys minimalistic art form. When he present his work, the insects were mounted in frames while others where hung. For documentation of his artworks, he worked with photographer Owen Silverwood.

Leandro Granato Paints With His Eyes

An Argentinian artist Leandro Granato made use of his eyes to paint. He has done this kind of method by snorting the paint through his nose and push the paint out of his eye socket. He uses 800 ml of paint for each piece. This talent of his was discovered by him during his childhood. “Ever since I was a kid I knew I had a special connection between my eye and my nose,” he explains. “As I grew up I started realizing air and liquids could go out of my eye if I put them through my nose.”

This is now new technique of painting which he called eye-painting.  “When I decided I would do this for a living my whole family thought I was going crazy – as well as many other people”, says the artist. But he prove them wrong and now, each of his artwork are sold for $2,400. Each artwork can take him between 10 minutes and 10 months to finish.

According to him, the artist Jackson Pollok is his biggest inspiration. Pollok is known for his abstract works using the drip technique. Granato says “Jackson Pollock is one of my inspirations mainly because at first nobody understood him, and he was pointed out to be crazy.” But it wasn’t until the death of his grandfather that he actually began exercising his artistic talents as a coping mechanism. He says that “My motivation to become an artist first came when my grandfather died because of cancer” adding that “After this loss, I started painting to overcome this pain.”

“Some say I’m crazy, but my technique doesn’t hurt my body,” Leandro Granato explains, adding that “I’m constantly being examined by expert doctors, and the formula I came up with is harmless. It will not cause me any health problems in the future.”

Portraits of the Origins of Famous Superheroes And Villains

This series of portraits of the origin of famous superheroes and villains were created by the illustration team Ninjabot from Las Vegas.

"Each print has it's own personality, and at its very core, each print represents the story of one character. Although all the prints may not look the same, they still fit together as a series. They were all illustrated the way we thought fit the character, and story best. The most exciting part about this series is that as we created each one, we had no idea what it was going to look like. We tried to follow the story of each character as much as possible. With each illustration, we only tell you as much as you need to know to figure out who they are, and what their story is", says the Ninjabot.

"We think that the concept of these prints is truly unique from all the other prints out there because this collection of prints presents our favorite characters in a very personal and stylistic way. We show the struggles, and in some cases the sacrifices, some of these characters went through to become our beloved characters". - Ninjabot

The Beautiful Indoor Rainbow Installation

This colorful rainbow installation is known as 100 Colors and was created by French architect and designer Emmanuelle Moureaux. It was created for the Shinjuki Creators Festa 2013. It consists a total of 840 sheets of paper in different shades of colors and were arrange in rows.

"When I first arrived in Tokyo, I was fully fascinated by the colors overflowing on the street. The flood of various colors pervaded the street built up a complex depth and intensity in the space. these indelible experiences of colors and layers in Tokyo were the inspiration and essence of my design concept of “shikiri,” which means dividing (creating) space with colors." - Emmanuelle Moureaux

Beautiful Artworks by L7m

Known mostly in Brazil as L7m, Brazilian street artist Luis Seven Martins created these beautiful series of graffiti birds on the streets of Sao Paolo, Brazil. In this series of his artworks portrays a very creatively drawn birds combined with abstract.

He was 13 years old when he picked up his first can of spray paint and started creating street art. According to his bio, he is inspired by "The revolt of human sorrow, the beauty of life, the city's disarray, the neglect and the surroundings, all of these things transposed influence the works of this artist, who evolved with all his feelings focused in street art."

Reflections by Tom Hussey

Tom Hussey is a very talented and an award-winning lifestyle advertising photographer based in Dallas, Texas. This new project of him is entitled "Reflections" that portrays elderly people who are looking in a mirror where in their reflection is their younger version.

In an interview with PetaPiexel, what inspired the artist for this project is when he was able to talk to a WorldWarII veteran named Gardner. On his 80th birthday, the latter told Hussey that he still feels like a young man.

He pictured Gardner looking in a mirror with his younger self. This became part of his portfolio and pick up by Novartis as a concept for an advertising campaign for their Alzheimer's drug.

Binary Prints by Alex Trochut

Alex Trochut is a Brooklyn and Barcelona-based designer who is the man behind the Binary Prints series. The artist was able to display two images on one surface. The artist also refers to them as the "nocturnal portraits" that wake up in the dark. When the light is on, viewers can see an image in the portrait, but once the light was turn off, another image will emerge.

The project's statement reads: "Anyone who has been present at those transcendental moments of communion at a show can attest to the experience as an awakening—a nighttime rebirth of mind and body. There is a literal translation of the inverted blinking eye, which shows the artists emerging into their nocturnal personas, bringing them into focus, from a anonymous being to an icon of music and sound. Like the experiential discovery inherent in live music, these portraits create layers for the viewers to feel and pull apart, combining the universal with the personal."

Catching Fire New Movie Poster Released!

Th second installment of the movie Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire, has released new movie posters. The said movie stared by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and many more star-studded lineup of casts. Catching Fire will be released in theaters on Novermber 22. This will surely be another hit movie of the year.
